Pakistani corrupt Media exposed
Breaking News: Supreme Court of #Pakistan's Media Commission report leaked online. The commission included highly respectable Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid and former federal information minister Mr. Javed Jabbar. This leaked and scanned part from the report authored by the Commission gives irrefutable evidence of Pakistani electronic media's direct connections with known enemies of Pakistan. The scan is not of the highest quality so we have optimized it a bit for clarity. The transcript of the highlighted parts of the Media Commission report is given below:
* It was revealed that a lot of funding was pouring into Pakistani media outlet from abroad in the form of sponsorship. For instance, 'Zara Socheeye' TV program had received sponsorship to the extent of 20 million British pounds, the report's authors said.
* The report's authors revealed that programs prepared by Indian producers were being sold to third parties in Dubai which in turn supplied them to Pakistani television channels. It was difficult to provide documentary proof of such deals.
* Another instance reported was that of 'Aman Ki Asha" program which was being funded by a Norwegian NGO named 'Friends without Borders'. Going into the background of the funding to this program, it was found that the foot-prints lead to Indian sponsors including the Indian State Television, the Doordarshan.
* The Commission says in the report it was informed that PEMRA had initiated dialogue with the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) on the issue of content regulation and the code of conduct. But there has been no positive response from the PBA. Instead, the PBA has approached the courts to stop the state regulator from introducing a code of conduct for TV channels.
